Book Review! Gather & the 30 Day Guide to Paleo Cooking

Yes, another book review! While I'm sure many of you are looking for some delicious recipes on my blog, it is always nice to own cookbooks as well. With the many choices of cookbooks out there, these reviews are meant to help you get an inside look at some of the top Paleo cookbooks.  Today's books are both by the authors Hayley Mason and Bill Staley. They are also the authors of I recently discovered their app called The Food Lovers Kitchen. Whether you  read their blog, get their app, or purchase their books, these two Paleo authors are definitely worth following.

Gather is a Paleo entertainer's dream come true. This entire book is dedicated to hosting the perfect Paleo gathering. The first thing that really stands out in this book is the photography. The warm photos are almost interactive as you are swept into the party images. While most of the menus are quite elaborate, don't be intimidated. Above are some recipes I tried out and had as week-night dinners. On the left is the Sweet and Tangy Venison Meatballs. On the right is the Pan-Seared Chicken with Onions and Mushrooms, paired with the Grilled Balsamic Vegetables (on skewers). Both dishes were quick, easy, and pleasant on the palate. This book is so beautiful it could literally be a coffee table book {especially for foodies}. Get to a book store near you and check it out!

the 30 Day Guide to Paleo Cooking
This book is what Bill and Haley referred to in a podcast as how they "typically eat". This guide is perfect for people who are new to Paleo, or are looking to tighten up their diet. The book has a full 30 day walk-through with charts that make it easy to understand the principles of Paleo and follow the food plan. If you've been eating chicken and broccoli every night and it's feeling stale, this can be your new go-to book for simple and tasty week-night dishes. I tried out their Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Dates and loved it! You can't go wrong with adding bacon, but the dates added a sweet twist that was a perfect addition.
